Payment Types and methods
The uP Payments solution offers a wide variety of local payment methods. These methods are categorised by Payment Type. The payment types are defined as follows:
📄️ Cards
The Card payment type is linked to a debit, credit, prepaid or charge card that is issued by a card issuing institution.
📄️ E-wallet
The e-wallet payment type is normally linked to an existing bank account or card, though some e-wallets can also store monetary value independently.
📄️ Carrier
The carrier payment type enables a consumer to charge transactions to their mobile operator invoice or deduct the cost from their prepaid balance.
📄️ Online banking
The online banking payment method enables consumer to make purchase with the funds that are available in their bank account.
📄️ Over-the-counter
The over-the-counter (OTC) payment type enables consumers to pay for items purchased online at a physical retail location.
