E-wallet

The e-wallet payment type is normally linked to an existing bank account or card, though some e-wallets can also store monetary value independently. To ensure the security of a transaction, e-wallets typically require a form of customer verification (e.g., passcode, SMS, etc.) to successfully complete a transaction.

The uP Payments solution supports the following e-wallet payment methods:

AliPay

Alipay is an e-wallet and payment app that enables consumers to make online and in-store purchases using stored debit and/or credit card details. It is popular amongst Chinese national and used for cashless payments.

Boost

GrabPay is an e-wallet that is part of the Grab super app. GrabPay lets consumers in numerous Southeast Asia countries make cashless payments. LINE Pay

LINE Pay is a e-wallet payment method offered by the popular Japanese messaging service, LINE. The LINE Pay e-wallet is connected to a credit or debit card. Consumer can use the LINE Pay app to pay for items by providing the LINE Pay passcode when shopping at participating online stores.

Mae

Mae is Maybank's e-wallet. It is offered through the Maybank2u service. Mae gives consumers access to a range of Maybank2u features, though consumers do not need to have a Maybank account to use the apps scan and pay feature.

Maya
