Over-the-counter

The over-the-counter (OTC) payment type (also referred to as retail outlet (RO)) payments enables consumers to pay for items purchased online at a physical retail location. A popular payment type in cash-reliant societies, this payment type requires the online merchant to generate a payment code that the consumer can present at a participating retail location to process the payment.

The uP Payments solution supports the following over-the-counter payment methods:

7-Eleven

7-Eleven offers an over-the-counter payment method that enables consumers to pay for purchases that they have made online at a physical 7-Eleven store using cash. During checkout, the consumer selects the 7-Eleven payment method. The consumer is then provided with a receipt. This receipt can then be printed out or shown to a cashier via a smart phone at any 7-Eleven store where the consumer can pay the cashier for their online purchase using cash.
